Traditionally, natural sciences in Croatia were popularized through our oldest popular science magazine "Nature" (Priroda). In order to bring science closer to the publics, narrative of popular science texts differs from scientific articles and reflects the taste of the time, but also the perception of science and its lay audiences. In this paper we will present the results of the analysis of the coverage of evolution through almost 100 years of existence of "Nature" (Priroda). We will also analyse the reasons of shifting the public’s interest in the new market for popular science which is emerging after the political changes in Croatia and for the decline of interest for this traditional national popular science magazine “Nature” (Priroda).
