Due to his important status in modern society, the scientist plays a giant role, be it positive or negative. Since early 80ies, various kinds of superstitions re-emerged in Chinese society. Pseudo-sciences in the cover of "Qi Gong science"(the science of breath exercises) ran rampant. Scientists did play a role: some scientists, scientific institutions and universities offered help both in theory and in practice to the promotion of pseudo-science; while others revealed and criticized it and thus helped preventing it from engulfing.

The unique role by the scientist:
1. Since all pseudo-sciences are covered by the name of science, the scientist is the best
candidate to reveal and criticize;
2. The scientist is not only able to lay bare "phenomenon", lies and heresies, but is able to
promote the spirit of science in the process.
3. The union of scientists from various disciplines: tribunes and associations, magazines.
4. The influence of the scientist and scientists' groups on media, law and government.

The policy of China's campaign against pseudo-sciences: adherence to correct lines; adherence to argumentative means; union with other walks; promotion to the public; advice to the government. Chinese scientists are determined to defend science. They are proved to be not only representatives of advanced means of production, but also representatives of advanced culture.Conclusion: The scientist not only plays an important role in economic construction, but also plays an important role in creating advanced culture, formulating correct public opinions and maintaining social stability.

The role played by Chinese scientists in the campaign against pseudo-science
