This formal agreement commits PCST and EUSEA to publicise and attend each others’ conferences, and to seek other opportunities for collaboration.  It took effect on 30 September 2017.

EUSEA, formerly the European Science Events Association, represents science festivals, science weeks, science centres and other public science initiatives across Europe, also with some members in the Middle East.

It holds an annual conference, most recently in Leuven, Belgium, in May 2017, when it approved the change of name, to reflect how it has “quickly developed into an international knowledge-sharing platform and accelerator of innovation in the fields of science communication and public engagement”.

The EUSEA board meeting in Bern, Switzerland, in October 2017, will discuss how to make this collaboration [with PCST] as alive and fruitful as possible. EUSEA aims to be represented at the PCST conference in Dunedin, New Zealand.

Both organisations were represented at the recent Beijing Science Festival.

Among those with dual membership of the two organisations, Jan Riise, a member of the PCST Scientific Committee, is a former President of EUSEA.
